Our team is passionate about kitchens and we love what we do. We will look after you all the way from the initial design consultation, right through to the fitting of the last cupboard and aftercare. We are an experienced, skilled, enthusiastic and close-knit team who work hard to ensure you will be delighted with your finished kitchen.

IAN PENMAN

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Ian set up Ruach Designs in 1993 as a ‘one-man band’. He originally trained as a mechanical engineer draftsman in the days when they used a setsquare and pencil. Ian has more than 30 years experience in the kitchen industry.

Ian believes the most important aspect of our business is that the customer is the key to success and he instills this ethos throughout the company.

Ian’s favourite animal in an Emperor Penguin!

JOSHUA PENMAN

PROJECT ADMINISTRATION & ACCOUNTS

Joshua has been involved with Ruach Kitchens even before he was officially employed and he is Ian’s son. Joshua has always been good with numbers so he studied with the AAT before coming to Ruach.  He assists Ian in the running of the business.

 

FUN FACT

Joshua has a golf handicap of 9!

HEATHER BRAZIER

SENIOR DESIGNER

Heather started with Ruach Designs in 2003. She graduated in Interior Architecture from Chelsea School of Art and she particularly relishes the challenge of working on any demanding design briefs.

She has a real gift for putting together truly inspiring and harmonious design solutions.

 

FUN FACT

Heather has designed her own new kitchen and is hoping to learn to cook in it soon!

VIOLET NANKERVIS

SENIOR DESIGNER

Violet studied at Southampton Solent in ‘Interior Design’. Since her degree she has worked in kitchen design. In 2015 Violet won the Miele Grand Designs Live stand competition.
Violet is great at creating a unique and on trend kitchen that will not only be current but will stand the test of time.
FUN FACT
Violet has a passion for animals, loves dogs and volunteers in a kennels!

AMY THORPE

SENIOR DESIGNER

Amy completed her degree in ‘Interior Design & Environmental Architecture’ at Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication. She went on to work for an Interior Design firm in London and then to be a youth worker before joining Ruach Kitchens.

Amy really cares about her clients and goes above and beyond to meet every need.

 

FUN FACT

Amy is a gifted musician and plays the cello!

NEIL STEVENS

SENIOR FITTER

Neil has been with us for fifteen years. Originally training as a toolmaker in mechanical engineering, Neil went on to join the Metropolitan Police, achieving the rank of detective constable. After eight years, he decided it was time for a career change and he moved into the world of kitchen fitting.

Attention to detail and dedication to excellence are his strengths and he has yet to be defeated by a design, however complex!

 

FUN FACT

Neil has a Beagle called Jenson who often takes him for a walk!

JAMES NAIRNE

SENIOR FITTER

James has been with Ruach Designs for 20 years.

A time-served apprentice, James is a true craftsman who takes pride in his work.  Earlier in his career he worked on the restoration of Leeds Castle in Kent and it was definitely our gain when he decided to move into kitchen fitting.

When it comes to fitting your new kitchen, nothing is too much trouble for James.

 

FUN FACT

James used to be a sound engineer and loves a good party!

BEN NAIRNE

JUNIOR FITTER

Ben joined us as a kitchen fitter after previously working as a builder. He has inherited great fitting skills from his Dad James who has been with us for 20 years.
Ben is hoping to grow in his skill set in the future by studying electrics. Ben is a young and enthusiastic part of the team .
FUN FACT: Ben can do some amazing BMX tricks!
